Literary Kent

With 350 miles of coastline, Kent has a proud maritime history, with the Cinque Ports, not to mention dark smuggling tales of centuries past, and a lively seaside heritage since the 19th century.

Artistic Kent

Kent has attracted many artists throughout the centuries, particularly to the unique light of Thanet. JMW Turner made it his home and the contemporary Gallery takes his name.
